Food Coma Acupressure Point—Essential for Thanksgiving!

This is my secret weapon for all food comas, overeating episodes, and “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing” experiences. I like to massage this point after my Thanksgiving meal to help the muscles in my stomach relax and to optimize my digestion.

Point name: REN 12⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

📍Location: on the midline of the upper abdomen, halfway between  the meeting point of the ribs (the bottom of the sternum) and the belly button. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✨Routine: using your pointer and middle finger on both hands, gently massage this point in a circular motion for 1-3 minutes. Take deep breaths while you massage this point and notice your stomach muscles relaxing. You can practice this routine anytime you need some digestive relief. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✨This point treats: abdominal pain, bloating, indigestion, reflux, nausea/vomiting, heartburn, hiccups, diarrhea, fatigue, dizziness, and insomnia.

Thanksgiving is going to look different this year, but no matter what your plans are, make sure to savor your meal, be grateful for the little things, and take extra good care of yourself.
