What the Heck is "Qi" Anyway?

Have you seen the word “Qi” before but never quite knew what it meant? Qi (pronounced “chee”) is a key principle of traditional Chinese medicine. It is often translated as “life force” or “vital energy”.

Qi is universal and embraces all manifestations of energy. It embraces the most material aspects of energy, such as our homes, cell phones, and food. It also embraces the most immaterial aspects, such as electricity, nerve impulses, and emotions.

Life is a gathering of Qi. Qi regulates our spiritual, emotional, mental and physical balance. So, a healthy and happy human being has a dynamic yet harmonious combination of Qi.

Qi is continuously changing, transforming from one aspect of Qi into another. It is neither created nor destroyed; it simply changes in its manifestation.
