Why Your Acupuncturist Feels Your Pulse

When you come to Namaha Wellness for acupuncture I will use your pulses as a feedback mechanism throughout the treatment. My goal is to balance your pulses and to make them feel even so that when you leave the session your body has the resources to better handle whatever symptoms you’re dealing with.

There are twelve pulse positions on your wrists—six on each side. There are three yin pulses and three yang pulses on each wrist. Each of these pulses tells me which meridians to focus the treatment on and how I can use the acupuncture needles to guide the excess in your body to the deficient areas and vice versa. The pulse positions can either feel excess, deficient or even. My goal is to use acupuncture and other healing modalities like handwork to bring all of your pulses to an even place.

This skill of pulse balancing is used throughout all Oriental medicine but is especially prevalent in the Japanese style of acupuncture that I practice at Namaha Wellness. Want to feel what it’s like to have a balanced pulse? Schedule an appointment with me at Namaha Wellness.
