Full Harvest Moon 2022

September 7, 2022 Rachel Appel

This month’s full moon is happening Saturday, September 10th, at 3:59am MDT. It’s called the Full Harvest Moon, because it’s the closest full moon to the autumnal equinox when many crops are harvested.

Our days are almost equal parts light and dark. This quality of balance is felt during the Harvest Moon. This full moon also symbolizes abundance and is a good time to reflect on the harvest in our lives and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

As with any full moon, it is a potent time to slow down, check in with ourselves, let go of what is no longer serving us, and create space for what we desire.

I personally like to celebrate the full moon by meditating, lighting some candles or incense, picking a tarot card, journaling what I’d like to let go of, and then thinking of 2-3 things that I’d like to call into the next month. I also like to watch the moon rise and go for a walk in the moonlight.

What are your favorite ways to honor the moon?
