How to Combat Winter Dehydration

Less thirsty in the winter? Me too. In winter, people feel about 40% less thirsty, even though the body’s need for water is unchanged year-round. We just don’t feel as thirsty when it’s cold outside. The last few weeks I feel like I haven’t been drinking enough water. I’ve been trying to combat this by steeping herbal teas into my water. My go-to has been a hibiscus blend from The Tea Spot. I put about 4 tsp of the herbal tea blend in a mason jar of room temperature water, let it steep for a few hours or even overnight, strain the herbs out of the water and enjoy. This turns the water a beautiful color and makes it more interesting to drink. You can try this with any loose leaf or bagged herbal teas.

Other ways to combat winter dehydration: .

💧Bring a reusable water bottle with you to work

💧If you don’t feel like drinking water, drink a warm non-caffeinated beverage

💧Limit dehydrating drinks like alcohol, carbonated and caffeinated drinks

💧If you’re feeling fatigued, lightheaded or irritable, it’s time to hydrate!
