Recently, I had the honor of teaching a truly special group of meditators through the Maya’s Way Program in my hometown, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Maya’s Way is a cause dear to my heart because Maya was one of my closest friends and an absolute force. She was a beacon of grace, kindness, and resilience. Her life was defined by her unwavering spirit and deep compassion for others. Maya’s Way was created to honor Maya’s giving heart by supporting young adults facing cancer, providing integrative medicine therapies to help them navigate treatment with greater strength and comfort.
During her own treatment, Maya turned to integrative medicine and tools like Vedic Meditation to support her health and manage the side effects of chemotherapy and surgery. The aim of Maya’s Way is to help patients live with optimal well-being, despite their illness.
Teaching Vedic Meditation to this group was a highlight of my year and something I’ll never forget. The students had such profound experiences and thoughtful questions, and they are continuing the practice with wonderful results. My hope is that Vedic Meditation brings them peace, stress relief, and a gentle space to tend to themselves as they move forward. I feel so grateful to contribute to this beautiful program in Maya’s honor.
