Fresh ginger is called Sheng Jiang in Chinese herbal medicine. Its medicinal uses were first recorded in 500 CE. This spicy and warm root has endless benefits and can be taken as a hot tea or added to a variety of recipes. Ginger is one of the best herbs to consume during the winter and will keep you feeling warm and well all season long.

Some of the Many Benefits of Ginger:

  1. Cold & Flu Prevention: sip this tea all winter long to strengthen your immune system. It can also be taken when you are feeling under the weather, especially if you are experiencing chills and body aches.

  2. Reduces Nausea: ginger is excellent at soothing the digestion and is especially good at treating morning sickness.

  3. Benefits the Lungs & Soothes Coughing: the warming effect of ginger can eliminate phlegm from the lungs and stop coughing.

  4. Treats Food Poisoning: ginger is detoxifying and can effectively clear the body of food poisoning, especially when it is related to seafood.

  5. Improves Cardiovascular Function: ginger’s warming properties can increase heart rate, respiration rate, and blood pressure. This is beneficial for anyone who feels cold most of time, has low blood pressure, or deals with excessive fatigue.
